7 Things Social Media Marketers Do In The Morning

You spend most of your day, if not all, on social media. That’s your job, that’s your passion and that’s your lifestyle. You hop from platform to platform, checking analytics, curating and creating content, planning ahead and performing the typical tasks of a social media manager. But what do your mornings consist of? Here are some things that take up my mornings.

1. Wake up

Good morning! It’s a brand new day and new work loads are on your plate. You get out of bed and do some stretching because you have a long day of social ahead of you.

2. Coffee Coffee in the Morning

Maybe you’re a tea person, or a shake lover, but I can’t get through my day without a nice and large cup of McCafe coffee. It’s the fuel that powers me to be productive. Start your day with giving yourself fuel too.

3. Check Your Social Profiles

And the day begins. You start checking your social profiles, looking at any mentions, interactions, topics that are trending, how many notifications you got, etc. You open up Twitter, Google +, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram and now you start getting into the nitty gritty.

4. Genuinely Respond to Overnight Direct Interactions

Overnight, you received 15 Twitter mentions, 10 Facebook notifications, and new comments on your Google+ post. Now you need to genuinely respond to each interaction and engage with your audience. Whether it’s done with your personal brand or you’re working for a company, this is a crucial and important part of your day and any social media strategy that you have will NOT be successful without you doing this.

5. Read the latest ‘SoMe’ ArticlesSocial Media

Everyday I make sure I’m keeping up with the constant changes of the social media world. Dedicate at least one hour a day to reading other peoples blogs and articles. Something that may work today in the digital world may not work tomorrow and thats why you need to read and educate yourself. If you have questions or want to know more, comment. If you like what you read, like and share it. This will help you keep up to date and even build your personal brand too!

6. Create New Engaging Posts

Now the fun part begins. This takes time, energy and effort so I hope you got a good nights rest. People want visually appealing information. They want to connect with you and a brand. Take a look at this info-graphic on how to write an engaging post. Social never sleeps nor takes a rest so keep pushing your relevant and engaging content. If you don’t have a content calendar, then you better use this time to make one. It helps you keep organized and on the ball with the content you share. Oh and make sure you’re consistent! This is why it’s part of your everyday routine! Consistency is key!

7. Lunch

Break time – only for a short while though, until you continue your social media routine throughout the day.

What do you do in the mornings? Do you do other things that aren’t mentioned in this post, specifically about social media? Let’s hear it. I would love to hear if I’m missing something I should be doing in the morning.
